The DMC workshop room, housed in the John Nike Suite, is comprehensively equipped with multi-media software and peripheral equiment to offer a versatile production environment for a wide range of projects.
We develop many strands of activity here: software training, creative technology weekends, INSET for teachers, video and animation production work, our own artist network; the Gene Pool and it’s associated podcast, plus live events such as the Sound:Space sonic arts conference and performance event, and a series of curated artist-film screenings including the Xtend: Dance for Screen programme.
Our tutors are all practising artists and professional media producers, with experience of communicating their skills in a educational setting.

Our philosophy is to emphasise the huge potential for creativity in the digital environment while our small group sizes mean that you are able to progress towards achieving your goals at your own pace. Whatever your previous experience, the appropriate course will lead you towards greater technical knowledge and ability to visualise, plan and create your own desired end result.
Each participant on our evening and weekend workshops has their own dedicated workstation for the duration of the course, comprised of the hardware listed.
