Residency Unlimited is a New York based non-profit arts service organization whose mission is to support artists and curators in residency by drawing from a broad network of local, national and international resources. We seek to explore new residency formats that go beyond the conventional circumscribed studio program model by operating across multiple platforms. We further our investigations through collaborative partnerships, by engaging with artists whose practice is not necessarily studio based and by developing an online platform dedicated to critical content and debate on the evolving field of art residency. We believe in the transformational potential of residencies on creative development and their impact on local communities where those residencies exist.
Our objectives are :
*Enhance cultural exposure, networking and production opportunities for local and international artists, curators and critics
* Curate project-based residency programs
* Disseminate knowledge on the topic of art residency through our online platform for critical content and debate
* Facilitate international mobility and exposure for local artists by operating as a global connective platform
